As lickspittles and toadies in the American media proudly announce that "Communist China has a new leader who is right for the job because he knows how to handle tough situations" they somehow forget to mention that the "tough situation" Red China's new Communist Party Chairman Hu Jintao "handled" was the brutal crushing by military might of a freedom movement in occupied Tibet.
The same lickspittles and toadies are quick to point out that the "new China" offers much economic incentive to entrepreneurs and that America's trade with Communist China provides many in the impoverished country with jobs. Not mentioned is the fact that labor in Communist China amounts to slave labor since the state owns you and what you produce.
Leaders may change but lies still cannot excuse the actions of a totalitarian government that uses tanks and military might to crush the protest of unarmed civilians as is repeatedly done to those who would stand against Communist rule.
Shame on the U.S. government for granting most favored trading nation status to a country whose government enslaves and murders its people.
Even more shameful is the silence on the part of most in the American media about the book "Unrestricted Warfare" by Colonels Qiao Liang and Wang Xiangsui of the Communist Chinese Army. Published three years before September 11, 2001 the book has brought accolades to its authors for pointing out ways that terrorists can attack the U.S.A. Just one quote: “Whether it be the intrusions of hackers, a major explosion at the World Trade Center, or a bombing attack by bin Laden, all of these greatly exceed the frequency bandwidths understood by the American military...”
Amazingly the powers that be in America continue to advocate free trade with a country whose government has been busy since 9/11/01 "... producing books, films and video games glorifying the strikes as a humbling blow against an arrogant nation.". Free trade with an enemy, particularly one as formidable as China, is foolish to the extreme. Infusion of American money and technology into a militaristic, communist regime will only add to the strength of this enemy. It will not help those already enslaved by the anachronistic dogma of communism. Only freedom will help them and freedom cannot come as long as the communist government is kept strong through cash generating trade.
America ignores her enemies at her own peril in todays troubled times. America strengthens an enemy and risks her own doom.
